On August 30, in the premises of the AI studio, the members of ITS Latvia gathered together to discuss future opportunities and share experiences so far, as well as to find a common understanding of the future direction of the community.
The initiative was launched by the IT cluster of Latvia in 2022, as a platform that unites participants of intelligent transport and logistics systems (ITS) in Latvia, who offer a wide range of innovative solutions that ensure an efficient, safe and sustainable transport industry, both in Latvia and abroad. Since then we have become active members of Nordic+ and ITS Nationals, which unite the Nordic and European ITS organizations respectively.
Currently, ITS Latvia is involved in several projects including Apvārsnis (Horizon), ELENA ( an instrument of the European Investment Bank for the greening of mobility), Nordic-Baltic NGO Partnership, which aims to update cooperation and strengthen the ITS ecosystem by involving cooperation partners - municipalities.
At the event, ITS Latvia mobility project manager Valts Murāns introduced the Baltic Mobility Collaborative to the audience, or an initiative in which three organizations representing the ITS sector of the Baltic States have agreed to cooperate in order to learn the possibilities of the Rail Baltica project in the ITS sector, coordinate EU project applications and also improve mutual cooperation. with members of the Baltic public and research sector.
"It is important for us to increase participation in international projects, as well as to build closer cooperation with local governments and ministries. Of course, the development of the ITS community in Latvia and to continue providing support to our member companies in export activities," V. Murāns mentions as the most important points in future activities.
